Home Rewiring: What Should I Consider When Having My House Rewired?

Our team regularly rewires a couple of houses a week. We have a lot of experience in understanding the specific steps and requirements needed to make sure that the job is done right.

Here’s a few FAQ’s that the blokes often have on-site:

What does rewiring a house usually involve?

Each house is approached on a case by case basis, however, rewiring a house often includes the following: Replacing original sockets, light switches, light fittings and other electrical fittings with modern fit-outs, replacing dodgy fuse boards and re-locating power meters to the outside of the home.

Do I need to move out of my home?

No, you will not have to leave your house. The rewiring will cause the power to be out for parts of the day, but this decision is completely up to you. Our team tries to cause as little disruption as possible so you can carry on with your regular routine.

Do you need me to stay at home?

Again no. Feel free to move around, go out and carry on with your regular routine. We’ll follow any rules you put down if you leave the house at any point of the day. We’ll look after your property!

Do you need to make holes?

Sometimes this is necessary, but we really try to avoid it. Before making any aesthetic changes we will always talk with you first and give you all of the options possible before moving forward.

What is the cost of rewiring a home?

The cost of rewiring your home will depend on factors such as the size of your house, the number of electrical cables and fittings, the level accessibility to sub-floor/ceiling areas as well as the extent of the job required.
